"Battled Child Labour, Boy 12, Murdered" No one knew that this short but powerful
headline would catch the eye of 12 year old Craig Keilburger one morning in April 1995.
More so, no one knew that it would spark an entire social movement!

No, we're not after your time or money but we would like to introduce you to
'Free The Children' who we think are just amazing!
With over 166,000 registered Charities in England and Wales alone and hundreds and thousands more worldwide, why did 'Free The Children' grab our attention? Well there were three main reasons:
Firstly there was the inspirational story of a young boy, Craig Keilburger, who at just 12 years of age gathered a small group of friends together and set up their charity with the vision that children, like them, could help other children throughout the world who were being subjected to all kinds of forced labour, abuse and worse. Although just children themselves their cause became known in Canada and they quickly grabbed the attention of both the media and the the public. Just 15 years on they are responsible for the building of over 650 schools and many other buildings in villages and countries across the globe and for the improved health, living conditions and opportunities of literally millions of children and adults.
Secondly, They have developed sustainable businesses whose profits fund the administration of their charity which in simple terms means that all money raised for their charity goes directly to the many projects that they always have in hand and is not spent on salaries and other operational expenses as it is with many other charity organisations.
Thirdly, we have been totally bowled over by Craig, his brother Marc and all the other incredible people who make up the Free The Children Family. They are simply some of the most wonderful and inspiring young people we have ever met and who are are truly dedicated to helping as many children, families and communities as possible.
We could go on for a long time telling you of all the wonderful things they have done and continue to do but to be honest it would be better for you to read it first hand from their own website by following the link below.
Free The Children are just in the process of launching their unique youth programmes here in the UK and we wish them well. We will continue to support them in whatever way we can and hope that you might also choose to get involved with Free the Children in some way.
Follow this link and then click on the video link at the top of their home page for a quick introduction to Free The Children. Hopefully you too will be inspired!
