FAQs

WHAT ARE AERIAL BALLS MADE OF?
The majority of our Aerial Balls are made from a high-density, soft foam material. The soft foam is a material which retains its shape and is very light weight. The soft foam expands over most car aerials.

TIPS ON FITTING THEM.
Hold the aerial/antenna firmly with one hand while pushing the ball onto the end of the aerial with your other hand. This will avoid bending the aerial and causing damage to it.
A very small drop of fairy liquid dripped onto the hole in the ball will help it slip onto the end of the aerial/antenna with more ease

WHERE ELSE CAN I USE THEM?
Our Balls are also suitable as pencil toppers or can be pushed onto springs (also supplied by us) turning them into wobblers, and mounted on virtually any surface such as your dashboard, desk or PC.
Please note that the 'springs' are not intended for use on the aerial or exterior of the car as this could cause damage to the paintwork.

DO YOU HAVE AERIAL BALLS FOR ELECTRIC AERIALS?
No. We do not offer electric aerial/antenna adapters for use with electric aerials because we have found over the years, that they do not fit most car aerials and may cause damage.

THE AERIAL ON MY CAR IS THICKER THAN THE USUAL AERIALS AND THE HOLE IN THE BALL IS TOO SMALL?
The holes in the balls are all predrilled to the same size during production and are made to fit the 'majority' of aerials worldwide, however the material of most of the balls can be manually increased by forcing a larger sized object into it (such as a pencil) and twisting the ball around it until the hole gets bigger.  Or if confident enough you can use an electrical drill to increase the size of the hole being careful not to go right through the ball.  We suggest an 8mm size drill for this purpose which is slightly smaller than the thicker aerials but will allow for a snug fit.  If using either of these methods please use extreme caution and use protective gloves where necessary to avoid injury.
If you know at the time of your order that you might need a larger hole in the item you have purchased then feel free to drop us a line at info@aerialballs.com  telling us that you have placed an order and ask if we can drill the hole larger for you before we send it.
